About Me - Andrea Calzavara

I am a Ph.D. student in Information Engineering (Bioengineering curriculum) at the University of Padova, Italy. My research focuses on improving the management of type 1 diabetes (T1D) through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In particular, I am working on deep learning–based blood glucose forecasting, with the goal of integrating explainable AI (XAI) techniques to enhance the safety, transparency, and reliability of these algorithms, enabling their safe deployment in next-generation T1D technologies.
